Adam and Ashlee’s wedding was laid-back, full of love and graced with bright pops of color. Earlier this year we photographed their romantic engagement session at Ashlee’s family barn and eagerly looked forward to their wedding day. Ashlee and Adam have known each other so long that their families are already like family to them, and throughout the day the love they all shared shined. The couple were married at Oakland Christian Church.
Congratulations, Adam and Ashlee, and thank you for including us in your wedding day!

We’ve been looking forward to shooting Aaron and Sarah’s wedding since their engagement session this spring. They are a genuine, sweet, kind couple. Their wedding day October 8 was a day of beautiful autumn weather, family, friends and abounding love and joy.
They married at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church at 2 pm as light filtered in through the skylights and stained glass.
Following the ceremony, the wedding party traveled by bus to Shelter Gardens for photos.
Aaron and Sarah’s reception was held at The Courtyard Marriott in Columbia. The evening featured an Italian buffet, beautiful cake and plenty of fun music and dancing.
Congratulations, Aaron and Sarah, and thank you for including us in your wedding day!

A historic antebellum home. Magnolia trees and crepe myrtles. Lace and frills. Hydrangeas and southern accents. Matthew and Maggie’s wedding day was filled with love, beauty, reminisces of the past and hope for the future.
The couple and wedding party prepared at The Magnolias, a historic antebellum home in Aberdeen, MS. Florals and lace and glittery chandeliers abounded.
Matthew’s Dad, Dennis, served as his best man.
Maggie’s parents were so excited for their little girl’s wedding day!
Matthew and Maggie chose to have a First Look and a little private time before couples portraits and wedding party photos.
Matthew and Maggie were married at First United Methodist Church in Aberdeen, MS – the same church where her parents had been married. The huge sanctuary features soaring ceilings, stained glass windows and seated hundreds of family and friends.
The wedding reception at The Arbors of Amory featured detail upon detail of classic southern charm and beauty.
Rain had poured a couple times during the day, but toward the end of the night, the skies cleared and first dances were held outside on the beautiful patio space.
Congratulations, Matthew and Maggie!

It’s a year later and I still smile thinking about Hawken and Lauren’s wedding. Family and friends traveled across the country to take part in their special day. I know I’m biased (this was my brother’s wedding after all), but this was one of the prettiest, most fun weddings I’ve attended. From the rehearsal dinner to the reception, the wedding was filled with family, friends, laughter, love, great food and a wonderful atmosphere.
All the time spent preparing the house and property for the wedding paid off. Every little detail from the signs, to the twinkle lights on the patio, to the lawn games, to the geographically accurate sign post of the hometown for everyone attending the wedding added to the joy of celebrating their marriage.
The rehearsal dinner kicked off the wedding weekend in traditional southern style with crawdads (a favorite for the men of the family) and barbeque. I have to admit, this was the first time Andrew and I ever tasted crawdads – just seems like so much work for such a small result!
Saturday afternoon after hair and makeup for the girls, Lauren and Hawken completed their preparations at the house before their First Look.
As the violinist played, Lauren walked to her groom under an aisle of pine trees, with the pond to their backs, a beautiful field to one side and a host of loving guests seated atop hay bales draped with heirloom family quilts and hydrangeas gracing the aisle.
The ceremony was made extra special with Lauren’s Aunt Lisa as officiant, handfasting and their own specially written vows.
After the first dances and dinner, the night was filled with dancing, photo ops and general celebration. In lieu of wedding cake, the dessert table featured family favorites – strawberry pie (Lauren’s grandfather’s recipe), pecan pie (made by Hawken’s Aunt Kandy), peanut butter pie (Grandpa Kimbrough’s specialty) and Mississippi-shaped sugar cookies (from a recipe used at our wedding).
Hawken and Lauren, thank you for allowing us the pleasure of photographing your wedding. We wish you many, many years of happiness and joy! (And no family wedding is complete without a pic with Val, the family dog, right?)
